Alternative Learning System Junior High Tracer Study

The Research Institute for Mindanao Culture conducted an independent nationwide tracer study of the Alternative Learning System (ALS) Junior High (JH) school completers and non-completers. The purpose of this study was to assess outcomes for ALS JH on transition to the workforce, career prospects, application of acquired skills, and the relevance of training in real-world contexts

Findings from this tracer study demonstrate the positive impact of O2. Over 85% of enrollees in ALS JH completed. Among completers, 55.4% continued on to Senior High School, 5.8% continued on to technical and vocational training, and 10.3% continued on to other types of schooling. Another 21.7% continued on to employment, including self-employment. Finally 6.8% of completers balanced both additional schooling and work.
