The USAID Higher Education Learning Network (HELN) hosted a webinar on June 11, 2024 featuring EDC’s Opportunity 2.0. The webinar focused on a partnership between Quezon City, Philippines and a local university, Quezon City University. Through O2, and through the Quezon Youth Development Alliance, these organizations supported higher education employment pathways to the blue and green economies.
Attendees learned about strategies to partner and build adaptable labor market information systems with local stakeholders, including employers, government, training institutions, and young people. We also explored the policy context and curricular changes that have allowed higher education to match educational programs with climate-responsive labor demand in Quezon City. Attendees also had the opportunity to share their own experiences in greening higher education employability activities and contribute to a brief on climate and employability programming.
