Opportunity 2.0 focuses on making a difference to the lives of Filipino out-of-school youth by ensuring they have access to learning and earning opportunities. Because when the most vulnerable members in our communities can pursue their dreams, our chances of achieving our aspirations as a nation increases.
Over the next five years, we will reach at least 180,000 young people, train more than 1,600 teachers and trainers, and engage 2,200 employers in 15 cities. We will have three programmatic hubs in Metro Manila Metro Cebu, and Metro Davao.
We do this by supporting the Philippines’ national and local agencies and stakeholders to help youth overcome their challenges and barriers to success.
This can only be done with close collaboration with the Department of Education (DepEd), Technical Education Skills and Development Authority (TESDA), city governments, private businesses, academe, NGOs, and the youth themselves!
As a USAID-funded program, Opportunity 2.0 is designed to provide second-chance education opportunities for Filipino out-of-school youth to gain knowledge and skills which lead to quality livelihood and employment.
Progress So Far
In the next five years, until 2025, we hope to make an impact for at least 180,000 young people in the Philippines, train more than 1,600 teachers and trainers, and engage 2,200 employers in hubs like Metro Manila. See our progress so far through an interactive dashboard online.
